Details

We are offering a kintsugi workshop where you will learn the art of repairing and decoration with urushi (lacquer) and gold powder.
In our workshop, we will focus on teaching “Kinmaki” , which is the final stage of kintsugi, sprinkling gold powder to decorate the artwork. We will prepare the lacquer foundation for you and you can learn how to do the “Kinmaki” using 23k gold powder and 100% natural lacquer extracted from sap of urushi tree!

The Workshop will take about 1.5hours to 2 hours. Workshop fee includes tuition, all materials and refreshments(Matcha tea).
After the decoration, the lacquer will take at least 5-7 days to dry. You can come pick it up afterwards or we can also send you the finished artwork by courier with additional shipping cost. (Free for Domestic shipping excluded Okinawa and Hokkaido)
If you wish we can also choose a different Paint/material to speed up the drying up process.
(the Paint will require at least 24hours to be cured/harden)
